Reflections on Hospitality

Journal Prompt: What have you learned about the value of hospitality from being in people’s homes this week?

My Thoughts

I learned that hospitality takes a great deal of work. I’ve learned to be more grateful for the stories that people share when they invite you into their homes. I’ve learned how valuable it is to share a meal with someone. I’ve realized the importance of allowing people the space to speak, and the importance of listening closely to what they say instead of thinking of something to say back. God is really emphasizing for me to just listen, and I’m very excited to see how that will even help me later on when we are listening to the most precious people in the world.
