Summer Internship 2019 in El Salvador was a life-changing experience. My eyes were opened to not only the needs of the world but the life of Jesus and what it is like to live in service to him and his people. The trip challenged me in many ways spiritually and provided a way to exponential growth that is still occurring to this day. It was the final stamp on the rerouting of my life in accordance with him, as I made the decision to follow his calling and be obedient to him. I traveled internationally on missions trips prior to the Summer Internship, but the thing that made the Summer Internship different from any other missions trip I went on was the Bible teaching that happened multiple times a day that helped frame all that we were seeing and experiencing. It helped me learn that I needed to respond and that I could do something to address the poverty I was seeing daily. I learned that if I loved Jesus and said I loved my neighbor, then my life needed to reflect that statement.
