The Value of Hospitality

by Anna Jones

Journal Prompt:

What have you learned about the value of hospitality from being in people’s homes this week?

I’ve felt the value of listening in hospitality. In one of our breakout sessions Heather Maute tutored us in listening to both verbals and non-verbals. It’s such a gift to pick up on the tears in the eyes of the host or the desire they have to discuss parts of their life and share a testimony. There is such a gift in both receiving and giving hospitality that creates a familial bond. I’m so excited to experience that with more and more of God’s children this summer.
