St Johns Primary
By Victor Wycliffe
It was a great experience at St Johns Primary school and an experience I found to be eye-opening. When I first heard that we were going to St. John’s I felt like it was just a normal thing. On our first day we just did some lessons with the kids and also had a chance to share a scrumptious meal with the kids. I felt compassionate when I saw the kids who were struggling and this touched me and even some students shared their stories: how they live with their grannies and how they walked longer distances to school. I found it eye-opening.
On the second day I felt like my eyes fully opened and I eventually took off the shaded glasses after having a meal and some special conversations with the kids. The kids were quite sad when we left. I now find it easy to feel what other people are feeling when they are in such an environment.
