Lydia - Update 4: EA SLAM Service Camp Reflection

Thanks to the Lord who knew me before. I was lost in the first weeks of SLAM, but the moment Pastor Gregg Garner started preaching or teaching from the word of God, it was this moment I knew I was not doing anything in my life because everything was new to me. What I heard from Gregg blew my mind. I was this one person who was waiting on God, but sometimes it is not necessary. I learned in most cases, God needs to bless the works of our hands.

During this SLAM week, I learned to be more prepared for the things God is willing to give us. My life has changed in the way I see things, in the way I have preparation and focus, and to have more intention. The way Gregg explained the Bible triggered me to read more and more because there are some things that need to be understood. Who am I to help widows to build rocket stoves? It’s a great opportunity for me.

Mr. Gregg brought people from different countries to associate with each other and also learn more. This showed me that there is a lot of work which God may want me to do. Determination is part of me now because I have a goal to accomplish. I look to God who is now my great helper.

In addition to the above, people from different countries, many from the U.S, had a good character. They acted as an example to me as an intern which gave me strength to change my ways. In a nutshell, I now know my purpose— that God wants me to come close to him because in him there is life. I really appreciate this opportunity. May God bless you for this.
