Journal prompt: What role does the Bible play in missions?

The Bible instructs our entire system as mission. Most importantly is the way we empower others. Jesus’ model through discipleship is to model, mentor, monitor, move on. We have been able to use that system on this trip to teach the crew here how to run SLAM. Jesus taught his disciples how to go about his ministry. For example, when he sends them out he is empowering them and in the monitor stage. He listens and gives feedback upon their return. This model has provided a foundation for good mission because instead of doing a one-time camp we are enabling them to run this camp every year.
