Zeke - Update 8: Debrief Blog 2

During one worship session the second day we got to Africa, I was worshiping next to Gideon. He is one of our African interns. And he said to me as I was singing, “You are so off bro.” And I thought in my head, “Wow I guess I just won’t sing then.” At that moment, I got so insecure I could not focus on my worship with God. I prayed about it for a day, but during those following worship times, I just could not focus on God. The next morning during worship I just decided to voice to Gideon, “I am going to sing out loud whether it’s good or bad.” And he just smiled and said, “There is no good or bad singing in praise and worship, because it is for the Lord.” I laughed with him and danced and sang for Jesus. I needed this reminder from him. He did not just lie to me and say my singing was good. He helped me get over my insecurity and turn my focus to the Lord.
