A Lesson In Teamwork

by Isaiah Aaseby

Journal Prompt:

Sunday’s activities introduced themes of teamwork - how to identify leadership, distribute roles, enact perseverance and flexibility, and employ encouragement in order to “win” no matter the circumstance. What did you learn about yourself from those exercises? Can you identify some roles that you are gifted in, when working on a team?

Interns discuss team dynamic prior to a game of volleyball.

I learned about myself the ability we have as a body to be unified through sharing a mind. I learned that the unity of the mind is transferable throughout venues and events, where we could still function well as a team, despite any circumstance.

I am gifted with diligence on teams, pushing others to do what is needed and holding them accountable to what they are responsible for. I am good at communicating and working with people and perspective-taking. I have gifts in working with youth and also with sports. I am sensitive to the human body and how it works, with my experience in sports. I am a discerning person.
