Luciana - Update 1: Lessons from Day 1

This morning we arrived at 9:15am. We were at the gazebo and there was a speaker playing the same song on repeat with the exception of another song by One Direction. For an hour we waited around and talked. We assumed that someone was coming to get us. Then we realized that Mr. Ownby was in the car playing the music. Everything was intentional from the music to sticks on the ground. If we were more discerning and paid good attention to the environment and what they had set up we would have quickly seen the note that the sticks were pointing to. The note told us to learn the song that was playing on repeat. Which we did with the direction of Genesis (giving us parts) and Justice playing guitar. We lost an hour by not being more intentional and discerning. This taught me that I have to always be thinking critically and pay attention to the cues around me set up by the leaders.
