Journal prompt: Is empowerment easy? Why or why not?

Empowerment is not easy. To empower someone, you first have to educate them and advocate for them, and to do so one has to come outside themselves and open their heart to even see the needs that exist amongst these people around them. I think it’s much easier to turn a blind eye to the issues around us. It’s much harder to become someone who stands against systems that block people from becoming educated, or to speak out against powerful voices that shut down the vulnerable.
