Journal prompt: Is empowerment easy? Why or why not?

Empowerment is not easy in the slightest, but the work required is worth it 1000 fold! Some people engage in what they think is empowerment, but what they’re doing is paternalism, which is a form of ministry that keeps people stuck where they are rather than equipping them to help themselves. True empowerment takes a long time. This is the case for many reasons, one of them being that one of the key factors of empowerment is education, which, without the correct systems in place, can take generations. Empowering people is a difficult investment, but the results change lives forever.
