Melanie - Update 5: Missions & the Bible
Journal prompt: What role does the Bible play in missions?
In missions the role that the Bible plays is our lens in which we see everything through. The Bible on mission is what gives us sight like the pair of glasses I’m wearing now. Without my glasses everything is unclear. I can’t even see 3 feet in front of me. I bump into things. I could even get hurt without my glasses giving me vision. The Bible is our lens to see what is around us correctly, to see people the way that God would see them, and how to serve others like Jesus did in his ministry. Without the Bible informing everything we do on missions, things can get messy or even harmful. Because we are blind without God’s Word. We humans can get blinded by our own culture, understanding, or feelings. Praise God that we have His Word to teach us how to do missions and how to care for people in need with dignity, compassion, patience, and love.
