How was your first day? What stood out to you?

My Thoughts

Day 1 of Summer Internship has been a whirlwind of many different things. Our day has been full of lessons, challenges, worship, Bible study, team-building exercises, and service. I’m thankful to be here and am trying to hold onto everything we have already learned this far. I also feel the challenge it is on my body and the endurance I will need to grow in as the trip continues. It has been very special to see how the Lord has been present with us throughout our day. Something that has stood out to me has been the intentional historicity of this trip. The theme of legacy has been consistently emphasized through stories of others who have gone on internships before us with G.O.D. and have continued on in ministry to this day. I’ve been encouraged to see my trip leaders, even in small portions of videos we got to see from their internships, be just like me. I see the capacity they have, the endurance, the joy, the skill, and I am encouraged because I know that it was through experiences just like the one we are having now that they became who they are now. I’m thankful to be a part of this story and get to follow Jesus alongside them.
