Malorye - Update 8: Debrief Blog 2

During this trip, I met a lot of amazing people. I was greatly impacted by a girl right around my age. To me, she truly showed what it means to persevere in life with the Lord. This sweet girl has a very serious disease that can be life-threatening, and recently she lost a very close family member. But while on the trip, she never complained of her illness. She served with her whole heart, gifting everyone with her voice, dance moves, and soft smile. She loved everyone around her so well. At the end of the trip, this sweet girl testified to how just a few months ago, she was literally on her deathbed praying to God, asking him to save her and teach her how to be a servant for him. The Lord did heal her and she stayed faithful to him by committing to go on Summer Internship serving everyone around her, and learning how to be a servant. She recognized that she could only work within the Lord's strength and not her own. I found a dear friend in this girl and I learned so many lessons from her.
