SLAM Wknd Reflection

Like most things that we have done on this trip, our SLAM conference was a big surprise, but an awesome one. I loved getting to know the youth, their stories, dreams, and seeing their minds engage God’s Word.

They were all so encouraged by the messages and they all said that they had never heard the Word spoken like that before. In my breakout group the girls were all so influenced by the messages and talked about practical steps that they could take to implement the. lessons they gained from the sermons.

I was very said to say goodby at the end of the trip and slightly disappointed because I knew these amazing youth would be returning home and wouldn’t be receiving the Word in the same way they had been, or experience the same amount o fellowship that had such intentionality behind them.

But a lot of things are happening here now and I’m so excited that our ministry will be able to continue to work with the youth on a deeper level, extending many more opportunities to them and educating them in God’s Word. I’ll never forget the friends I made, their smiles and joy. I’m so thankful that they will continue to be involved in our ministry.
